How to market yourself on the Internet, all over the world, with little or no money

How difficult is it to build a brand internationally with little or no money? Pretty simple with some patience and the right online tools.

It doesn't happen overnight, but if you're willing to invest some of your time and have an interesting story to tell or business to promote, you can get attention all over the world.

And yes, it's easy to do (if you know how to do it).

I recommend a combination of Twitter and traffic exchanges for people looking to reach the world for free. If you have a little money to spend, all the better. You can get seen by more folks much quicker.

However, you don't need money to get started. If you already have an existing website, you can reach hundreds of new sets of eyeballs, globally, each and every day. If you don't have an existing website, Blogger.com will give you a free blog and host it at no cost.

I see what I do on the Internet as tantamount to the billboards you view driving down the freeway. Over time, you build name recognition and brand awareness. You won't see the impact immediately, but if you stay dedicated to getting your message out you can reach lots of people.

This is a screenshot of my web stats for the blog from earlier this evening (click to enlarge). It only shows a period of a minute or so, but you get the idea. Global traffic, all of it free, and on days I really dedicate to this, I can get hundreds of new hits a day. So can you. Over the years, those visits really add up!

You don't have to rely on search engines (although getting traffic through the search engines is obviously desirable). The vast majority of the recognition I've built on the Internet I received without search engines and without media coverage.

My method for building a huge Twitter following won't be shared on this blog now, but here are two tools I recommend for you right now:

1) EasyHits4U.com - My favorite traffic exchange. The exchange now boasts over 800,000 members, each one of them waiting to see your message. I've used this one for several years, and I still surf this exchange several times a week (although my downline generates free traffic for me every day now automatically). If you don't have time to surf, worldwide traffic is cheap. You can receive 1,000 visitors to your website for less than $6! This is completely free to sign up, and a credit card is not needed to join. If you don't fully understand how a traffic exchange works, there is a good description on the site.

2) Traffup.net - I really like this exchange a lot (and use it almost daily now) because you can benefit three ways from the system. This site, which is absolutely free to join, will generate free traffic to your site or blog, send free followers to your Twitter account, or earn retweets to your existing tweets on Twitter. If you're trying to build your Twitter account, this is a fantastic site to use.

Keep an eye on my Twitter account for "Great memories" in the coming days, which will focus on international reach.
